There might be a debian port of "apt" tools for Fedora. I have also heard of a tool called "yum", but I may be wrong. Debian has the neatest way of system upgrade with the excellent tool apt-get and

In my case there were more than one version installed and the older one was being used when compiling etc. I just renamed the older versions to something else so that the newer version was picked up

Be sure that you have the right versions of the autotools. autoconf 2.57 or later automake 1.7.4 or later libtool 1.5 or later swig 1.3.22 or later $ autoconf --version $ automake --version $ libtool

I just built & tested CVS head with swig 1.3.22 autoconf 2.59 automake 1.9.4 libtool 1.5 << N.B. not 1.5.6 and everything worked fine. However, it seems the libtool 1.5.6 and automake 1.9.4 don't get
