We can mark it "obsolete" - do you have a pointer as to
what should be used instead? From my own experiences I was
using the plain gcc version to check for any __attribute__
marks. So the obsoletion hint would look like:
dnl obsoleted: check __GNUC__+0 >= 2 && __GNUC_MINOR__+0 >= 5
