Hi Fernando,

I should have mentioned this in my previous e-mail - version 0.0.2 (and the
prior 0.0.1) are Windows only. They are actively working on UNIX, GNU/Linux,
and Macintosh versions. Note: this work is from the same group that created the
(also AEGIS-funded) odt2daisy extension to OOo (see
http://odt2daisy.sourceforge.net/) -> which today is multi-platform and exports
full DAISY books from Writer documents. So I have confidence that they will
have a GNU/Linux version out it not too long...

Peter

 Wonderful news Peter, thanks.

I can only find a version of the extension that is for windows platforms.
Will that work on GNU/Linux or where can I find the other version?

 Best,

 Fernando

 Hi gang,

I thought this group might be interested in the AEGIS-funded odt2braille
project, an LGPL licensed extension to OpenOffice.org (and which also works
with
Oracle Open Office). Combined with OOo Writer, odt2braille provides a complete
Braille authoring environment - supporting printing directly to a variety of
braille embossers as well as exporting to both BRF and PEF format files (and
with grade 2 translation support for a growing number of languages).

See http://odt2braille.sourceforge.net for details (and also see
http://odt2braille.sourceforge.net/support.html for the manual and screen
 casts). Also see
 http://odt2braille.sourceforge.net/doc/odt2braille-dev-doc.html for the
 developer guide.

Thus far it has been fully (or nearly fully) localized to English, Dutch,
French, Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, Slovenian, German, and Norwegian, with
significant translation work underway to Swedish, Icelandic, Danish, and Czech.

 Regards,

 Peter
