The Adonthell project is an effort to make a free graphical role playing game, graphically similar to the good old Super NES RPGs, but taking advantage of new computers processing power to give the player an increased range of freedom. The Adonthell team includes programmers as well as various artists (gfx artists, musicians, writers). Although the current team has been successfully going since about two years, we'd like to enlarge it with a few extra artists, as the objectives has been extended and as a consequence the amount of work too. We are looking for talented bitmap artists to work on the various graphical elements of the game (objects, characters, cutscenes elements, user interface elements, etc.). Working on Adonthell means being part of an open team composed of various people with different talents - while being totally open, our way to work is much like professionnals, with the exception that you'll have freedom in your work. Every single detail in discussed on our mailing lists, and isn't implemented until an agreement has been reached. This means you could bring your artistic touch to the whole game. Developing Adonthell will put you in contact with experienced gfx artists who are used to computer games graphics and will guide you during your first steps. It is a unique experience of collaborative and friendly teamwork from which anyone could learn a lot. Adonthell is Free Software, that is, none of the people working on it are paid for that. Joining must be motivated by the will to learn from collaborative work, have a funny and valuable experience, and leaving your touch and name on a widely distributed creation. Adonthell is primarily developped under Linux, but will perfectly run under MS-Windows too, as well as the necessary development tools. You don't need to switch to Linux to work on it.
