I hadn't seen that patch before. Maybe over he weekend I'll have time to
look at it. Then I'd have the chance to replace the use of -dumpversion
with something that will get you the complete version, not the ABI version
that gcc will print with -dumpversion if it hasn't been patched by the
distributor.
