For the release, I believe we should wait that René gives a signal,
although I know we've been waiting for an answer from him for a long
time.

But as far as subversions goes, I think that asking for a write access
and using it (CC'ing to René just like you did) is harmless.  You
should go ahead.  And grant me another access ;)

I am sorry that I haven't been very responsive. The story is that I have started a new company with some friends. Though a startup, we are working with clients such as the European Commission and the Danish Parliament, so it is rather demanding and takes a lot of my time. Hopefully I will find time too to publish my Apache/mod_perl/MySQL content management system soon.

It has never been my intention to abandon GNU m4, but unfortunately I never got further than having the CVS repository set up on subversions. After that it stalled. I will try to get some spare time to go through the m4 related mail, so Gary will have all the necessary information to continue.

I have reply to the gnu cvs folks that they should give Gary write access to the gnu m4 repository.
