That said, I think this patch should be applied as-is, since it fixes a 
potential false negative in the tests.  The other patches I'm planning 
to lump togheter are mostly consistency-related (they ought to make 
the use of the `errexit' shell flag in test script more consistent), 
but should not imply any semantic change/improvement.
