You can use either of
- wildcards,
EXTRA_DIST = pattern*
- automake conditionals,
if COND
EXTRA_DIST += files...
endif
- or plain old configure substitutions for variable content in
EXTRA_DIST.
EXTRA_DIST = file @list_of_files@ $(more_files)
