I *thought* I wrote in the instructions that a patch is needed to 
build GCC under MinGW. This patch is included in the WinAVR *source* 
installation. The patch is from Tony Mahar.

I'll send you the full instructions I wrote up for Ted recently. I've 
been meaning to do that.
