Ask Atmel, i don't know. My guess is that IAR's proprietary UBROFF
does support C++ features. Also, they do plan to support ELF some
day.
COFF debugging doesn't even support C89 extensions of C, it only
supports plain old K&R C (which was the C dialect of the time COFF was
born).
