[avr-gcc-list] JTag, AVaRICE and AVR-GDB problem |

Hello,
I am having difficulty debugging some bootloader code in AVRStudio, so I have
been (unsuccessfully) trying to get GDB/Insight, AVaRICE and an Atmel JTag-ICE
working on a Windows 2000 system. AVaRICE seems to connect to the JTag-ICE (via
a serial port) and program the chip, but Insight and AVR-GDB both fail when
trying to connect to AVaRICE (such as when issuing a "remote localhost 4242"
command to AVR-GDB). AVR-GDB gives the error "Couldn't establish connection to
remote target . Remote failure reply: E01". On the AVaRICE side, it seems to
get a connection on a different port (I think port 1485 was one of the other
ports that AVaRICE reported a connection on), the GDB connection is immediately
exited, then AVaRICE exits.
I am using the Insight, AVR-GDB and AVaRICE installed with WinAVR. Is there a
place (or places) to get a newer set of compiled executables [I'm still working
my way into the toolchain and not able to compile from sources :( ], or does
anyone know what I might try to get this to work.
Thank you for your help.
JerryB
