[avr-gcc-list] General tips on patching gcc? |

Hi. I have 3 main questions:
a) I think I found the patches I need to support the at90usbxxx
parts. Is this right?
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2006-05/msg01001.html
b) The email referenced above has a subject prefixed with [AVR][4.2].
As far as I know, the latest release of gcc is 4.1.1. Is the "4.2" in
the subject referring to gcc version 4.2.x? Is there a similar patch
for 4.1.x? Is 4.2.x good enough for regular AVR development work?
c) I'm thinking of making a downloadable binary package installer for
Mac OS X, and I'd like to automate the process of building the tools
as much as possible, so that I can easily provide current versions of
the AVR toolchain. What's the best way to stay abreast of the
releases and appropriate patches for AVR-targeted gcc? (I can handle
automating the local builds and Mac OS X-packaging, I think.)
Thanks!
