It's dublicate of PR46779 [1]. Report the problem to your distribution provider, Atmel in this case.

I cannot say anything WRT the redhad stuff. Much prose there but I did not find a patch that would indicate how they fixed the problem. So I cannot tell if their fix is fine or just a hack and the issue might pop up in a different context again.
If the "fix" is just a work around in the sources, you will see the problem and wrong code in other contexts and with other user code, too, of course.
