Hi Gang,
I'm still working on building AVRDude in Cygwin with Win98. I think I have 
some new info about the illegal opcode error when perl executes.

I figured out how get more info while bootstrap is executing and I have the 
last dozen lines shown below. The error occurs as soon as the exec autoheader 
--debug command is run.
