My sugestion is to either stick with 8khz ulaw audio, or convert to the adpcm vox format. You may also be able to play with scheduling, or at least raising the priority of other things which might compete with the runtime audio threads.

Hypothetically speaking, what are some ways to
troubleshoot if you get soundplayback choppiness (text
to speech and wav file) with bayonne?

Has anyone run into this problem?

We face this problem frequently with dialogic cards & some other ivr
platform on windows os. The typical fix is to restart dialogic drivers and
the problem is fixed.

Try to restart dialogic service and see if that solves the problem. If it
does not then you may need to diagnose the following:

1. wav files are of proper format.. Try and use 8 bit 11,000 hz mono wav or
4 bit 8000hz adpcm vox files..
2. the system is not under heavy io load - use top and see what all system
resources are being used. Remember that on systems with hyperthreading, you
should consider only 1 cpu for taking out real load.
3. Try to put the wav files in a ramdrive and see if that fixes the problem.
