compiling 4.13 on NT

I am having trouble building a2ps 4.13 on an NT box with the latest cygwin.
the error message I am getting when fixnt.c is compiled is as follows:

fixnt.l:97: `_MAX_PATH' undeclared here (not in a function)
fixnt.l: In function `main':
fixnt.l:266: `_MAX_PATH' undeclared (first use in this function)
fixnt.l:266: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
fixnt.l:266: for each function it appears in.)

I tried to add #include windef.h which took care of the _MAX_PATH problem 
but caused other problems. 


any guidance would be appreciated
