[Bug-AUCTeX] 11.83; Hide in fold mode hides optional args of items in description environment

Subject says it all:

When I invoke AUCTeX's hide command on

\begin{description}
\item[backward ref ``\bref{}''] refer to any mark defined to the left
\item[forward ref ``\fref{}''] refer to any mark defined to the right
\item[scoped ref ``\mref{}''] refer to any mark defined to the left  
or right
\item[last ref ``.''] refer to the last defined mark to the left (no  
lookup
  involved)
\end{description}

it appears as

\begin{description}
* refer to any mark defined to the left
* refer to any mark defined to the right
* refer to any mark defined to the left or right
* refer to the last defined mark to the left (no lookup
  involved)
\end{description}
