[Bug-AUCTeX] Problem with preview and auctex

I try to run preview-document on some latex documents and I get a weird error:

What does it mean? My document has no images, but it has a bibliography and
tables. The dvi file exists. My .emacs has just

(add-hook 'LaTeX-mode-hook 'reftex-mode)

of reftex or auctex-related things. I'm using debian unstable, and the versions
I have are:
