Wow! 5 hours?  What is this box, an old pentium?  It used to
take 2 hours on my old P2-366, but since three months I'm now
down to 20-25 minutes on some fresher hardware :)

Anyway, thanks!  I've installed your patch on HEAD and
branch-1-7 as follows.
