Bash Version: 2.05b
Patch Level: 0
Release Status: release

Description:
        In an interactive shell I was writting a function. Then, I hit the
        tab key (I should have typed C-v tab)
        Bash exited immediately with this error message :

        malloc: ../bash/subst.c:5717: assertion botched
        free: start and end chunk sizes differ
        last command: sansblanc() {
        Stopping myself...Aborted

Repeat-By:
        easy to reproduce : simply type in the following 2 lines, then hit the
        tab key :
sansblanc() {
eval "${1}=\"\$(echo \"\$$1\" | sed -e 's/^[

Fix:
        Teach users to type C-v tab when they don't need completion ;-)
