[Bug gas/517] New: Weak symbols broken on non-i386 PE targets

Subject: [Bug gas/517] New: Weak symbols broken on non-i386 PE targets
Date: 5 Nov 2004 07:44:50 -0000

Weak symbols presently are not known to work on any PE targets except on
i386. In particular, weak symbols work for i?86-pc-mingw32 and i?86-pc-
cygwin, but probably not for any *-pe target.

The basic PE-correct weak symbol handling in there in both gas and ld.
However, each target CPU probably needs special adjustment in gas. In
particular, code needs to be added to relocations are being generated that are
correct for that particular target CPU.
