Autoconf macros can also be used for portability.

Since it's in a header you can use a simple

#ifndef HAVE_FFSLL
static inline int ffsll(long long value)
{
  if (value & 0xFFFFFFFFLL)
    return ffs ((int)value);
  else
    return 32 + ffs ((int)(value >> 32));
}
#endif

You can change all the map_is_anonymous_ code to use malloc/free instead.
