[Bug classpath/33967] New: Use glib where possible in the Classpath code base

We already need glib for the Gtk+ peers anyway.  Would it be much of an issue
to introduce this as a global dependency and stop creating yet another platform
independent layer ourselves?

An obvious example is the Solaris problem with readdir_r.  Presumably glib
already handles this.
