Well, I do not know if it was the intention, but from what I
see in thread2.cpp it looks like seg. fault is normal. Try
removing the memset(...), then the seg. fault will probably
disappear. On my box it actually disappears.
The memset makes me think that the example really wants to
cause a seg. fault.
