od v5.0 bug or feature

Hello

I tried out "od" 5.0 not long time ago due to a hint of usenet post.

Strange for me is the offset on the left side. From earlier time I am 
used that 16 Bytes give a offset of 00000010 and not 00000020?

Is this a bug or a feature (did I mis something important?) It really 
looks strange to me: the whole enumeration.

Furter the file is 8k (8192 bytes 0x2000) long and not 0x20000!
