The patch looks quite OK to me. Thanks for taking care of this :-)
[For Debian's BTS and coreutils' maintainer] 
Maybe this bug should be reassigned to bash so that this documentation 
improvement is done in its info/manpage too. BTW, I believe the patch 
provided also fixes #230957 BTW.
