Do
stat Standalone1.avi
or, if you are using GNU/Linux -
strace -v -e lstat64 stat Standalone1.avi
Multiply the "Blocks:" figure by 512 (in the case of the stat output,
this is st_blocks). If the result is less than the file size, the
file is a sparse file. An alternative is to compare the first and
second sizes given by
ls --block-size=1 -ls Standalone1.avi
