Which distribution? If it is precompiled version from mingw or cygwin,
you are better off checking with the distribution rather than here.

It may be that your terminal and shell display settings are at fault,
rather than a coreutils/findutils limitation - are you sure you are set up
to display 8-bit characters correctly?
