True (or "buggy" I don't really know)
The script works if I exchange the Interix BSD sed with GNU sed (sed-4.1.5
release, note regex.c bugs).
Maybe a sed version check would be good in configure?

Note that cc now works all the way.

You mean:
#define MOUNTED_INTERIX 1
in config.h?
