I'm trying to find out which syntax STRING needs in order to recognize
date *and* time.
It's the same syntax used by date, and documented as "Date input
formats" in the supplied documentation, also available online here:
http://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/manual/html_chapter/coreutils_27.html
