Judging from the rest of the thread, am I correct in thinking you meant to
write "on feature", not "on stable"?

There's two kinds of notes you could send: 1) This is what we are thinking
of doing, what do you think of it? 2) This is what we are going to do. FYI.
I would suggest that, if you do send a note to the Eclipse list, the note
should be of the second form - a courtesy notification that something is
about to change.
