Hi Bruno,

cvs-1.12.13 was released on 2005-10-03. Subsequent to that release,
the patch you mention was applied to the FEATURE branch sources:

2005-12-07  Derek Price  <derek@ximbiot.com>

        * client.c (handle_redirect): Give stack control of string key.

        * client.c (start_server), root.c (method_names), root.h (CVSmethod):
        Handle :extssh: as a kindness to Eclipse users.
        (Suggestion from Joseph P. Skudlarek <Jskud@Jskud.com>.)

The current FEATURE branch sources are broken on a couple of platforms
(including Solaris 10). I am not able to advise when a cvs 1.12.14 release
will occur.

I agree that :extssh: is a desirable method and concur that you should
use Joseph's patch until such time as cvs 1.12.14 is able to be released.
