thanks Andrew, your suggestion worked, somehow: I tried on another computer
and it rescue a file of 500 MB, pretty good, but when I run ddrescue a
second time it says the error size is still 540 MB. What does it means? why
then the file is so big?

If you look in the logfile, surely you'll see ddrescue rescued some scattered data and the highest rescued sector was at position 500MB. However, most of the rescued file will be zeros.

Another doubt is: what does it mean "Ddrescue can't read audio or video CDs,
only data CDs (CDROMS)."?

My limited experience with audio/video formats is this; if a format can't be mounted, ddrescue can't rescue it. DVDs can be mounted, "compact disc digital audio" CDs can't, "video CDs"[1] maybe.

I was able to mount the image I rescued, but not to play it, I used vlc but
I could have messed something up, I'll try again as soon as possible.

From the sizes above, it seems your image is full of holes. Try repeating the rescue with the same outfile and logfile on several computers. Maybe this way you'll be able to obtain an almost complete copy.

Best regards,
Antonio.
