There is no official ddrescue repository. I find version control 
programs annoying and I work on a computer without an internet 
connection. Mattew Ruffalo set up an unofficial GNU ddrescue repository 
at http://github.com/mruffalo/ddrescue but it is not up to date.

Much easier? How difficult is it to make a diff against the latest 
version of ddrescue?
