It doesn't matter to me, but it might matter to some that
the size of the 'ed' executable is very small.  My build
of ed-0.3-rc3 just now had an executable text size of 33173,
and my 'e %' patch added just another 144 bytes of text.

How much does this patch grow the executable text size?
