I thought that info was an emacs-style viewer thing with its ctrl-key
commands and split screens and so on.  Shows how much I know :-)

Heh.  That assumes that one has cursor keys and the like.  If you need
more than an escape key, it's just junk :-)

Oh, yeah -- and one has to go an install info, too!  I guess I'll add
that to my list.

I've tried that but can never remember the commands since I never use
it, which means I'd have to read info on info before reading any info
on the program in question.
