Yes, that is the latest update.  It's dated 2000-12-20,  The bug fix
that I'm thinking about is dated 2000-12-31.

I would recommend trying one of the gcc snapshots to confirm that it
fixes your problem in your environment.  If that still fails, then I
would welcome a bug report.

I don't know about Red Hat's update schedule for gcc.  Releasing a
compiler is a big job and I'm not even going to speculate.  It's also
off-topic for this list, which is about the base FSF software, not
any particular vendor's version.

If are a Red Hat customer, you could file a problem report at
support.redhat.com and ask that question about if/when Red Hat plans
to issue another update for 7.0.  You could also look into the Red Hat
public beta version (compiler dataed 2001-01-18) and the "rawhide" tree
(compiler dated 2001-02-03).

Yeah, it feels weird to talk about Red Hat this way when I work for
Red Hat.  But we really do separate our FSF gcc / gdb activity from the
commercial supported versions.  So on bug-gdb, all I care about is the
FSF trees from gcc.gnu.org and sources.cygnus.com.
