Sorry to bother you again. I haven't had much luck in installing gdb. Here
is what my gdb-5.0 directory looks like:

$ pwd
/opt/gdb01/gdb-5.0
$ ls
COPYING                djunpack.bat           move-if-change
COPYING.LIB            etc                    mpw-README
Makefile               gdb                    mpw-build.in
Makefile.in            hppa2.0w-hp-hpux11.00  mpw-config.in
README                 include                mpw-configure
bfd                    install-sh             mpw-install
config                 intl                   opcodes
config-ml.in           libiberty              readline
config.cache           ltconfig               sim
config.guess           ltmain.sh              symlink-tree
config.if              md5.sum                texinfo
config.status          mh-frag                utils
config.sub             missing                ylwrap
configure              mkinstalldirs
configure.in           mmalloc

Within this directory, I execute ./configure and that runs fine.
Then within this directory, I execute make (I assume using the Makefile in
this directory) and recieve the following error:

        ar: Permission denied
        ar: could not open infttrace.o
        ar: creating libgdb.a
        *** Error exit code 1

        Stop.
        *** Error exit code 1

        Stop.
        $

I need help bad because we have a Sybase process that is failing and Sybase
would like gdb installed but, doesn't really give us any assistance in
installing gdb.

Help.

Hmmm, 46 megabytes is plenty of space.

I'm out of ideas, sorry. I build on hpux 10.20 regularly and I've never
seen an error like that.
