Hi!
I get an ioerror if I try to convert a PDF 1.2 coming from stdin ("-" as
filename):
> (...) gs -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=pswrite -sOutputFile=- - (...)
Error: /ioerror in --setfileposition--
Operand stack:
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- 0
Execution stack:
%interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval--
--nostringval-Dictionary stack:
--dict:996/1123(ro)(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:70/200(L)--
--dict:70/Current allocation mode is local
Last OS error: 29
The same works fine if using AFPL GS 6.01, supplying the filename instead
of "-" or feeding GS 7 with a PS instead of a PDF. The strangest thing is
GS7 continues to output an (empty) PS file after the error message instead
of terminating. (I tried it with a few PDFs, it's always the same.)
I compiled GS7.00 from source on a Linux 2.4.2 box using glibc 2.1.3 and
gcc 2.95.2 without major problems.
It'd be nice if someone could tell me wether this is a bug or a feature or
if I should go bug hunting in front of my monitor... <g>
