Cutting the inner part of PS file using Ghostscript

Hello,

I have a PS file which consists of small (1X1)cm square areas. I would like
to cut some area of this PS file for e.g. one (1X1)cm square area and
generate PS file of this small area. This PS is generated by one tool and it
has special dot pattern on it. Further this PS file is encoded that is why I
am not able to understand locations of the (1X1)cm area to be cut. Is there
any method to cut small portion of PS file and generate another PS file?
