I think it should become a cross between 1 and 3, have a large 
amount of indepth articles but no so much a library. (If an article 
gets over a certain size break it up into smaller articles). 

I'd agree that Nupedia could have cleaned up versions of 
Gunpedia(or whatever). Both Nupedia/Gnupedia have a similar aim, 
there's no need to compete.
