Subject: [Bug-gne]A Road Map
Date: Sun, 18 Feb 2001 12:33:21 -0800 (PST)
Looking at the discussions we are having, maybe what we need is a
road-map to show the roll-out of GNE for submissions.
As an example, each entry in the road map might look something like:
April 1, 2001
-------------
Supported Languages: English, French, Portugese
Accepted Content Formats: plain text
Submission Routes: Web form only
Digital Signing: none
Moderation System: n positive votes on vote-gne list.
Content limits:
## no ref to living people, or to existing legal entities
## no ref to political ideologies/philosophies/parties less than 50
years old
## 3rd person only
It's just that, it is clearly going to take some time to work though
the architecture issues, legal concerns, satisfying server owners etc.
If we can set ourselves some real solid short, medium and long-term
goals, which accept the limits of what we can practically handle in
terms of format and content, we can at least start soliciting entries
again. Currently, I'm sure our discussions are losing people...
Even if some of our contributors need TEI, PNG graphics or whatever, at
least they will see progress and stay motivated.
