Seeing how often one might hit v in dired to view a file, and and how
convenient it is to page thru said viewed file via the space bar, one
would think it would be good to provide an convenient [via key
command, not M-x view-file] way to view files in the general case [not
just dired]; however the closest keystrokes provided to get a similar
function are C-x C-r find-file-read-only. Sure one could
;(setq view-read-only t) ;thanks kai, but after
;"q" still there
Anyway, I notice r is unbound in dired, perhaps v is too popular.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is view-file should be given its
rightly deserved global binding, whatever that might be.
[Sure hope no Mandrakeisms are at play here.]
