I know that Eli and others have pushed for the FSF to fix the mail/news
gateway, which would help a little bit at least (although followups from
the newsgroup may not reach the OP if he is not subscribed to
bug-gnu-emacs).  But it doesn't look like it has happened yet.  Is it
manpower, or a technical issue, I wonder?
