I'm in dired-x
I do "!" on a line with file "xx"
I tell it to use gv on this file.
[I could have named it xx.ps, then ghostview, or gv, wold be the
default...]
OK, I do "!" again. Why can't it remember that for the very same file,
I would probably like to use the very same command again... at least I
could be prompted for it as a good default guess... as it stands I
must hit ESC P.
For example, M-x compile remembers that you probably want to do the
same compile command that you just did [even when not in the same
directory :-( ] so dired-x could do this remembering too I'd say, if
it sees the same filename again...
