Hello,

I think there is a bug in the configure script of the emacs-20.7
distribution. It rejects "hppa1.1-hitachi-hiuxmpp",
which is listed in ./etc/MACHINES:

[~/]$ zcat emacs-20.7.tar.gz | tar xf -
[~/]$ cd emacs-20.7
[~/emacs-20.7]$ ./configure hppa1.1-hitachi-hiuxmpp
creating cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... hppa1.1-hitachi-hiuxwe2
configure: error: Emacs hasn't been ported to `hppa1.1-hitachi-hiuxwe2' systems.
Check `etc/MACHINES' for recognized configuration names.
[~/emacs-20.7]$

I may well be wrong, but I poked around the configure script
and thought that config.sub wrongly substitutes "-hiuxmpp"
with "-hiuxwe2".

The operating system on which I typed the above lines is

[~/]$ uname -rs
HI-UX/MPP 03-04
[~/]$

Hope this helps,
Ryo
