It does not appear to occur to any particular pattern,
nor all the time. I've put a screen shot up at

to show you what I mean, which might be off some use.
Wildly enough I have just got the same problem whilst
typing this email. Screen shot at

I use "mail" rather than "message" for my email, so
it would appear that this is not just a "message" problem.
I would hazard a guess that this is occurring
in about 1/10 misspellings so its fairly frequent. I forgot to mention
in the original bug report that this is my normal working emacs, rather
than emacs -q --no-site-file. In particular I am using
"(blink-cursor-mode 0)" which obvious may well have major
implications in this case.
