I looked into it (see my other postings) and could not reproduce the error.  I
hope I'm not wasting everybody's time :(

Is there anything else I could do?  I could try emacs -q, but the error occured
with my .emacs file loaded and then failed to show up with my .emacs loaded.
So I doubt it will occur without my .emacs.  But I could try it, anyway.  Just
tell me to do it.
