Actually, that was the first thing I thought of. With no start file,
I still can't get it to work. Maybe I'll look for an rpm, rather than
building from source.

All the paths are the installation directory, where I installed emacs.
When I hit a TAB, I get [No Match], even when I know the path is legit,
