Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

In a shell buffer, the new emacs version apparently has no reasonable
way to go to the REAL beginning-of-line.  C-a apparently now does the
same thing in the shell buffer that C-c C-a used to do.

Now the only way to go to the real beginning of line is to do C-p C-a
C-n.

If you want C-a to go to the beginning of line or command prompt, that
seems ok to me, but then make C-c C-a go to the real beginning of line.
